Insights Program
The insights program provides guidance and practical steps to better understand our stressors, stress responses and the neural-emotional patterns that determine these responses.
Stress affects us all, but how it affects us is unique and individual. We can be physiologically experiencing stress yet mentally numb to it because we’ve become so accustomed to it. Some have become so adapted to the daily pressures, irritations and annoyances of life that it can even start to seem normal. Yet the small stresses accumulate quickly and we may not realise how much they’re impairing our mental and emotional clarity and our overall health until it shows up as a bad decision, an overreaction or an unwanted illness.
Once we better understand our existing stressors and stress levels we can begin to manage our stress response. We don’t have to be at the mercy of what the world decides to throw our way. When we can become more aware of stressful situations and how they are affecting us, we can control how we respond to stress before it manifests as a physical, mental or emotional complaint.
The best way to manage stress is to deal with it the very moment you feel it come up. In order to be able to manage stress in the moment, we need to have tools and techniques which through practice become familiar to us. These become our new neural-emotional baselines. When we become aware of our stressors, we can notice 'stress' earlier, and we can respond using these techniques to shift to a calm and composed state allowing us to respond in a much healthier way.
We will explore concepts like belief horizons, resilience, finished thoughts, heart rhythms, self-worth, subcultures, co-authors, mindfulness and mindlessness as we build new baseline patterns of thinking and feeling that support us to feel balanced, energised, composed and in control.
